Brother and Sister Fielden are two long time stalwarts of
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints
here in the Atlantic Provinces.
We feel so blessed to be able to know them and call them friends.
If you want to see what stalwart followers of Jesus Christ look like, here is a picture!
We see them in the temple several times each week.
They have served the Lord in nearly every way possible in the last 60 years.
We went with the other two temple missionary couples to dinner at their home.
Brother Fielden cooked delicious salmon.
Sister Fielden made an incredible Molasses Angel Cake with whipped cream.
Then we were entertained with Brother Fielden playing his plunger for us.
Brother Fielden made the plunger violin himself.
It is a really, really cool novelty.
I took this video, it didn't turn out well, but he is great!!
I hope it uploads okay. My apologies for not holding the camera in one direction all the time.
Don't know what I was thinking of.
Here is Sister Fielden's Molasses Angel Cake, she says you need to make it with Canadian molasses, as molasses in the states are really strong.
Molasses Angel Cake
1 egg, well beaten
1/cup butter (or margarine) melted (or very soft)
1/2 cup white sugar
1/4 cup molasses
1 cup flour
1 tsp. soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. salt
Mix together and add 1/2 cup boiling water
Beat well
Pour into 8 x 8 inch pan
Bake 30 minutes at 325 F
