The Best Kind of Therapy........

One of the many things I love here is the opportunity a person has to go to the beach

 even if there is only a little bit of time. 

Even in the middle of winter the beach calls my name. 
The proper name for the beach at Eastern Passage is 
MacCormacks Beach Provincial Park. 
As you can see, it is a peninsula that juts out into the harbour.
There is a boardwalk all the way around it and a few picnic shelters and benches. 
An added bonus, it's about 10 minutes from our apartment. 

This is looking back on Fisherman's Wharf. 
There are fun restaurants, touristy shops (during summer) a hotel etc. 

Hard to see, there are about 100+ seagulls floating on the water here.  

Martinique Beach ~ January 7, 2016

If you have a bit more time, a short drive to Martinique Beach is great! 
According to Google Maps it is about 40 minutes from our apartment. 
Trudy and I got new rain boots, we were off to try them out!

It was a beautiful day!
Although there was snow on the ground, there was sunshine and we were protected from the wind. 

The beach here is always beautiful!

I've heard that they also surf here. Apparently right after big storms is the best. 

Not me, water is still COLD in the winter, even if they are wearing wet-suits!

The water here in the ocean is actually not all that cold to the touch, but just look at this just above the tide pools. 

All in All ~ God's Creations are Amazing!

B.E.A.C.H. Best Escape Anyone Can Have!

With the exception of the Lord and family,
Nothing beats time on the beach! 

My first time ever seeing a star fish in the "wild". 

This little guy was in a tide pool.

In my excitement to see him and photograph him, I ended up getting really wet. 

I forgot to pay attention to the rising tide. Oops!

Martinique Beach is one of my favorites and you can access it year round!

I also found two whole sand dollars! 

That was a first for me as well. 

I got good and wet taking this photo as well. 

Darn incoming tide. LOL

The beach here is the longest beach in Nova Scotia.

Someday I would like to walk the length of it. 

That is probably going to be possible only if they put porta-potties at mid-point. 

We have so much to be grateful for!

We love serving here in Nova Scotia!

We have been blessed beyond our ability to understand! 

Work Hard! Play Hard!!

Martinique Beach

I'm a firm believer in, "work hard, play hard"!

On a Wednesday afternoon after we finished at the temple we drove to Martinique Beach. 

Love this beach! It's beautiful, has miles of beaches, lots of shells etc. 

Who could ask for anything more??

It was a beautiful day! 

We enjoyed the sunshine, the surf, the ocean life.....

And..... I got a few pieces of sea glass.

I love sea glass! It's fun to find and doesn't take much room. 

Fun with the Hampson's

On the 17th we got to go over to the Hampson's and help them out with a little project. 

When we finished we went to Gazoo's for wonderfully amazing Fish 'n Chips!

I'm glad we didn't wait any longer to go. 

September 27th was their last day of the season.

You can hardly read it, but the sign says 11ish -- 8ish. 

On the way back to Dartmouth, we were treated to the sight of many wind surfers at Stoney Beach. 

Some were doing acrobatics, most were just sailing along! 

We are so grateful for all that shines around us daily! 

We are grateful to have a mission where we can serve the Lord and also enjoy the many beauties of His earth!

We love the opportunities we have to serve Him in His Holy Temple!

It is a privilege that we are blessed to have!
