I have a friend that likes to spoil Aisling. :)

She gave her these beautiful rings and bracelet. Aren't they gorgeous?!

I particularly like the star fish. Such a great reminder of her visits here. 

When a girl gets new jewelry, she needs a manicure to show it off.

We're As Cold As Ice.....

Visiting Burncoat Head has been on my bucket list since I realized it existed. 

February isn't exactly the ideal time to visit. In fact, the park was closed. 

Twice each day the Bay of Fundy fills and empties its 160 billion tons of water creating the highest tides in the world. 

In 1975 The Guinness Book of World Records listed Burncoat Head in the Minas Basin, Nova Scotia 

as the site of the greatest average tide of 47.5 feet with an extreme range of 53.6 feet. 

Aisling and I had such a fun time tromping through the snow. 

This picture is of the two of us above the bay. We were so grateful that the tide was out. 

This replica lighthouse contains interpretive displays and a small shop to purchase locally made goods. 

However, it is closed in February. 

The OCEAN FLOOR! 

How cool is this!

Being down on the ocean floor was such a humbling experience. 

You realize how small you are and yet still very important to our Father in Heaven. 

Our life has been incredibly enriched by the beauty here in Nova Scotia. 

We have enjoyed the beauty of the land, the sea and the people here. 

We love this opportunity we have to serve the Lord our God here. 

The Pumpkin People

President and Sister Bush invited the 6 temple missionaries

to a day in Kentville.

After President Bush took us around to see the Pumpkin People, he took us to their home for lunch. 

Sister Bush is a wonderful cook!

Seafood chowder, tuna melt open-faced sandwiches, green salad 

along with blueberry cake and ice cream. 

YUMMY!! We all ate too much, but it was wonderful!!

The Annapolis Valley is known as the "Breadbasket of Nova Scotia".

 With good reason....

They have beautiful produce here. 

While here, we purchased apples, peaches, squash, potatoes and there was much more we didn't buy. 

Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; 

and lean not unto thine own understanding.

In all they ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct thy paths.

Halifax Public Gardens....

These gardens are absolutely amazing!!

We've been here before and will return many more times.

Amherst and Pugwash

Sunday we got to go to church in Amherst with President and Sister Nelson

Amherst is a small branch about 2 hours from Cole Harbour. In our church, a branch is a congregation that is smaller than a ward. They are both organized geographically and members attend a ward or branch near their home. Amherst is in Nova Scotia, just three kilometers or 1.8 miles from New Brunswick. 

We can't thank President and Sister Nelson enough for letting us tag along with them!

They are the world's best tour guides and we love them dearly!!

We arrived to find a beautiful church and grounds. 

The people in the branch were so kind and welcoming! We thoroughly enjoyed our visit!!

The treat for the day was that we got to listen to both President & Sister Nelson speak. 

They are both amazing speakers. 

I'd be delighted to listen to either of them anytime!!

They have a large property there. Plenty for expansion!! 

There are beautiful maple trees around the perimeter of the grounds! 

We were invited to President and Sister Brogan's home for lunch following meetings. 

President Brogan is the Branch President over the branch.  Like a bishop over a ward. 

They live in Pugwash. It is about a 30 minute drive from the chapel. But it is stunningly gorgeous out there!!

They served us a delicious lunch and were so good to us! What a fun visit and what great new friends!!

This is the view from the family room window. The body of water is the Northumberland Strait. 

The Northumberland Strait is the body of water that separates Prince Edward Island from the mainland. 

On the very horizon you can see Prince Edward Island.

Later in the day, when it cleared a bit, we were also able to see the bridge across from New Brunswick to PEI. 

This is their back yard.  They are in the process of completing their home, hence the gravel pile. 

Love the rustic barn. 

This sight warmed my heart! It is obvious that this beekeeper gets his paint the same place dad always got his!! 

Beehives always make me think of my dear dad! He had a birthday this week. He would have been 91. 

Our hearts are filled with gratitude to Our Father in Heaven for answering our prayers and sending us to this incredible mission! Our testimonies of Him and of His church grow daily. 

We love our friends and family that stop by our blog.
