A Wrong Turn Isn't Always a Bad Thing!
October 25, 2015
Monday morning we started out on a drive, headed for Martinique Beach.
We stopped to get a snack at a little town.
Upon leaving the store, Laurence asked me which direction...
I said left, thinking that led to Martinique Beach....
After we'd traveled a ways, I noticed that the scenery wasn't correct.
Laurence said, no, we weren't headed to Martinique Beach, that would have been to the right.
How was I to know?? He just turned the way I said I wanted to go.
Oh my!!
We saw lots of pretty things. I said let's go to Clam Harbour Beach.
Ooops, we got there and found it was barricaded for the season.
I had been wanting to stop in Tangier and see the Prince Alfred Arch.
It was kind of disappointing, but fun.
The arch was erected to commemorate the visit of
His Royal Highness Prince Alfred, the 2nd son and 4th child of Queen Victoria.
He toured the gold mines there, and was presented with a box of "fine specimens of gold in it's native quartz."
At this point we decided to head on up to Port Dufferin and visit Gloria, our sweet lady we home teach.
Not sure what she thought when we told her we were in the area and thought we'd drop in. haha!!
Regardless, it was a beautiful drive and we had a fun visit with Gloria!
We love serving here and strive to always be content and proud of what we've done.
If not, we try to fix it!
We love that, because of the Atonement of Jesus Christ we are allowed to do that each and every day!
I love your posts! Always find out something new, Never knew about the arch! So thankful you have embraced our little corner of the world, fully becoming a part of the land on which you walk!
ReplyDeleteI'm really surprised you didn't know about it. I've seen all kinds of articles about it. You know how much we love it here!
