Fort Robinson State Park Nebraska

Laurence's brother Glenn and his wife Glenda are traveling this summer celebrating retirement in their RV. We spent this weekend with them at Fort Robinson, Nebraska. Fort Robinson is a few miles outside Crawford Nebraska. I can't begin to tell you how much I enjoyed being with them.
Hot Springs, South Dakota
In the middle of downtown.
On the way to Nebraska
We took a Jeep trip that was SO FUN!!

Can you tell the wind is blowing?
Fort Robinson was built in the 1870's.
Initially it was used to imprison members of the Lakota Tribe and the Northern Cheyenne Tribe.
Chief Crazy Horse and Chief Dull Knife were killed here.
Later it was used to breed horses for the calvary then to train dogs for the K-9 Unit.
During WWII it was used to house German Prisoners of War.
It was made a State Park in 1955.

They have a herd of donkeys and a herd of buffalo at the Fort.

Turtle Rock

There was a whole meadow of wild roses.
What an incredibly wonderful rose smell.

  2. It was so much fun Carmen. Only thing that would have made it more fun would have been if the Eicher family had been there as well. They were just a few hours from here. Maybe about 6?
They'll be here Saturday. So excited!!
